Description
Prince Ernő I was born on January 2, 1784 in Coburg, in the Duchy of Saxe-Coburg-Saalfeld. He was the eldest son of Prince Francis of Saxe-Coburg-Saalfeld and Countess Augusta Reuss-Ebersdorf, the elder brother of Princess Victoria of Saxe-Coburg-Saalfeld and King Leopold I of Belgium. Duke of Saxe-Coburg-Saalfeld (1806-1826): in 1806, the death of his father inherited the Duchy of Saxe-Coburg-Saalfeld.
