Minting information
Károly V became the emperor of the German-Roman Empire in 1519, at the age of 15, and then in 1520 the king of Spain and Naples. This unification of the three crowns meant the creation of the Habsburg Empire, which became the largest empire in Europe. Károly's coinage reflected this increase in power. Coins depicting the imperial coat of arms and the insignia of the Habsburg dynasty began to be minted at the imperial mints. A similar change can be observed in the Spanish and Neapolitan mints. In Hungary, Károly V became king in 1521. At the Körmöc mint, coins depicting the imperial coat of arms and the insignia of the Habsburg dynasty began to be minted.V. Károly's coinage was an important step in the establishment of the Habsburg Empire and the consolidation of Habsburg rule in Hungary.
