Az emlékérme előlapján, a középmezőben a Fáy András által alapított Pesti Első Hazai Takarékpénztár emblémája, a körbe komponált virágport gyűjtő méh ábrázolása látható, amely a mai budapesti Károlyi utca 12. számú épület hom-lokzati díszítőelemét idézi. Az emlékérme szélén felső köriratban a „MAGYARORSZÁG” felirat, az embléma ábrázolása alatt, középen, két vízszintes sorban a „5000” értékjelzés és a „FORINT” felirat olvasható. Az emlékérme szélén, alul Csikai Márta tervezőművész mesterjegye látható. A mellképtől jobbra, a váll felett két vízszintes sorban az „1786-1864” felirat olvashatók. Fáy András halálának 150. évfordulójára ezüst és színesfém emlékérmét bocsát ki a Magyar Nemzeti Bank. Fáy András író, politikus, a magyar reformkor irodalmi és társadalmi mozgalmainak egyik legtevékenyebb alakja volt. 1840-ben nyílt meg az általa alapított Pesti Hazai Első Takarékpénztár, amely 1848-ig harminckét vidéki fiókkal bővült. Zum 150. Todestag von András Fáy gibt die Magyar Nemzeti Bank Gedenkmünzen aus Silber und Nichteisenmetallen aus. András Fáy, Schriftsteller und Politiker, war eine der aktivsten Figuren der literarischen und sozialen Bewegungen der ungarischen Reformära. Das von ihm gegründete Pesti Hazai Első Takarékpénztár wurde 1840 eröffnet und war bis 1848 auf 32 ländliche Filialen angewachsen. On the 150th anniversary of András Fáy's death, the Magyar Nemzeti Bank is issuing commemorative silver and non-ferrous metal coins. András Fáy, writer and politician, was one of the most active figures in the literary and social movements of the Hungarian reform era. The Pesti Hazai Első Takarékpénztár, founded by him, was opened in 1840, which by 1848 had expanded to thirty-two rural branches.
