Az alacsony példányszámban (500 db) megjelenő arany érmék az idei kibocsátási program legértékesebb darabjaiként állítanak emléket Szent László magyar királynak (1077–1095), aki igazságos uralkodóként megerősítette a keresztény államot és jelentős törvényeket hozott, melyek a magántulajdon és az egyházszervezet védelmét szolgálták. Uralkodása alatt sikeresen védte az országot a besenyő és kun külső támadásoktól, ezzel másfél évszázadra megerősítve az ország keleti határait. Szent Lászlót 1192-ben avatták szentté, öröksége a középkori magyar államiság egyik pillére. Az emlékérmet az „Országépítő királyok Árpád dinasztiájából” sorozat harmadik részeként bocsátja ki az MNB a 2021-ben megjelent Szent István király és 2023-ban kibocsátott I. András érmék mellett. A „Szent László király” emlékérmék elsődleges szerepe az ismeretterjesztés, a mindennapi fizetési forgalomban való használatuk kerülendő. A rajtuk szereplő névérték ezen érmék gyűjtői értékének megőrzését szolgálja. Az arany, ezüst és a színesfém változat azonos érmeképpel jelenik meg, értékjelzésükben eltérve. Az érmék előoldala Szent László egyik ezüst dénárjának részletét jeleníti meg, melyen az uralkodó sematikus portréja látható, míg a hátoldal a lovagkirály hermájának félprofilból ábrázolt részletét ábrázolja. A korhű forrásmotívumokon alapuló emlékérméket Tóth Zoltán ötvös iparművész tervezte.
