VI. Mohammed (Arabic: الملك محمد في للمغرب) was born in 1963 in Rabat, Morocco. He is the ruler of the Alawite House and the King of Morocco. He ascended the throne on July 23, 1999, after his father II. King Hassan died unexpectedly. His first steps as king included the release of political prisoners and the dismissal of the unpopular interior minister. He spends a lot of money on the development of the country, so VI. Mohammed earned the name "king of the poor". In recent decades, Morocco's economy has started to develop significantly, primarily due to industrial investments and the boom in tourism. In March 2000, the country's first female royal adviser was appointed, which was unprecedented in the Arab world. VI. Mohammed also made peace with Israel.
