Minting information

Emperor Trajan was one of the most successful military emperors of the Roman Empire, who conquered huge territories during his reign (98-117). His coinage reflected these successes, as many of his coins depicted the defeated peoples, the acquired provinces, or his military constructions. The most famous of Trajan's coins is the Via Traiana denarius, which shows the road built by the emperor that connected Brundisium with Beneventum. Trajan's coins were usually made of high purity silver, and in addition to the image of the emperor, they also expressed the goodwill of the senate and the people.
