Description
He was born on September 21, 1840 as the son of Murad I. Abdul-Mejid. During his time as a prince, he bore the name Mehemed Murád Efendi, and his uncle, the suspicious Abdal-Aziz, kept him under supervision since he ascended the throne in 1861, because Murád did not approve of the modification of the throne system planned by his uncle. and was deprived of his throne as a result of a palace revolution on May 30, 1876, the conspirators proclaimed Prince Murad as Sultan. In just a few weeks, however, it became clear that the physically and mentally broken Murád was completely incapable of governing, which is why he was deposed again on August 31 and imprisoned in the Csiragán Palace on the side of the Bosphorus. Murád died in his "prison" at the age of 63 on August 29, 1904.
