Budapest, 2018. június 21. –A Magyar Nemzeti Bank 2018. június 22-én „Egri vár” megnevezéssel 10 000 Ft névértékű ezüst és 2000 Ft névértékű színesfém emlékérmét bocsát ki az egri Dobó István Vármúzeum és a Magyar Nemzeti Bank Értéktár programja jóvoltából megvalósuló Fegyvermustra c. interaktív kiállítás megnyitó ünnepségén. Az emlékérmék a 2004-ben indult Magyar várak sorozat részeként jelennek meg. Az Egri vár emlékérmék hazánk törvényes fizetőeszközei, de nem forgalmi célokat szolgálnak. Elsődleges szerepük a figyelemfelhívás, az ismeretterjesztés, valamint a tisztelgés a magyar nemzet meghatározó történelmi eseményei és hősei előtt. Az Egri vár kulcsfontosságú védelmi szerepet játszott a Magyar Királyság végvárrendszerének részeként. Ezer éves történetének leghíresebb eseménye az 1552-es ostrom, amikor a Dobó István várkapitány által vezetett kétezer fős védősereg közel harmincszoros török túlerővel szemben hősiesen megvédte a várat. Juni 2018 wird die Magyar Nemzeti Bank dank des Burgmuseums István Dobó in Eger eine Gedenkmünze aus Silber im Nennwert von 10.000 HUF und einer Nichteisenmetall-Gedenkmünze im Nennwert von 2.000 HUF mit der Bezeichnung „Burg Egri“ ausgeben und das Magyar Nemzeti Bank Valuation Program. Waffenmuster c. bei der Eröffnungsfeier der interaktiven Ausstellung. Die Gedenkmünzen werden im Rahmen der 2004 eingeführten Serie „Ungarische Burgen“ ausgegeben. Die Gedenkmünzen der Burg Eger sind das gesetzliche Zahlungsmittel unseres Landes, dienen jedoch nicht dem Umlauf. Ihre Hauptaufgabe besteht darin, Aufmerksamkeit zu erregen, Wissen zu verbreiten und den prägenden historischen Ereignissen und Helden der ungarischen Nation Tribut zu zollen. Als Teil des endgültigen Burgsystems des Königreichs Ungarn spielte die Burg Egri eine wichtige Verteidigungsrolle. Das berühmteste Ereignis ihrer tausendjährigen Geschichte ist die Belagerung von 1552, als die 2.000 Mann starke Verteidigungsarmee unter der Führung des Burghauptmanns István Dobó die Burg heldenhaft gegen eine fast 30-mal überlegene türkische Streitmacht verteidigte.
