Az MNB 2014. április 22-én kibocsátotta Egressy Béni ezüst és színesfém emlékérméjét, amellyel a 200 évvel ezelőtt született zeneszerző, szövegkönyvíró, színműíró művész emléke előtt tiszteleg. Egressy Vörösmarty Mihály Szózat című művének megzenésítésével vált ismertté, amelyből egy kottarészlet ábrázolása látható az érme előlapján. A hátlap a zeneszerző mellképét és kézjegyét ábrázolja. A sokoldalú tehetség színmű és operaszöveg fordításai mellett korszakalkotó magyar műdalokat is írt, valamint szövegírója volt a három legjelentősebb Erkel Ferenc operának: a Bátori Máriának, a Hunyadi Lászlónak és a Bánk bánnak. Erkel, a magyar nemzeti opera megteremtője, idős korában így méltatta Egressyt egy virtuóz zongorista előadása alatt Gárdonyi Géza írónak: „Egressy is így zongorázott. Trilla és trilla. Am 22. April 2014 gab die MNB die Béni Egressy-Gedenkmünze aus Silber und Buntmetall heraus und würdigt damit das Andenken an den vor 200 Jahren geborenen Komponisten, Texter und Dramatiker. Bekannt wurde Egressy durch die Vertonung von Mihály Vörösmartys Szózat, von dem auf der Vorderseite der Münze ein Musikstück zu sehen ist. Die Rückseite zeigt die Büste und Signatur des Komponisten. Neben Übersetzungen von Theaterstücken und Operntexten schrieb das vielseitige Talent auch epochale ungarische Opern und war Texter der drei wichtigsten Opern von Ferenc Erkel: Mária Bátori, László Hunyadi und Bánk bán. Erkel, der Schöpfer der ungarischen Nationaloper, lobte Egressy im Alter bei einem Auftritt eines virtuosen Pianisten vor dem Schriftsteller Géza Gárdonyi: „Egressy spielte auch so Klavier.“ Triller und Triller.
