Ungarn erlebte 1945–1946 die höchste Hyperinflation aller Zeiten. Im Januar 1946 verdoppelte sich die Inflation alle 15 Stunden, sodass das gesamte im Umlauf befindliche Geld gegen die neue Forint-Produktionstechnik eingetauscht werden musste: den Offsetdruck.
