Az érmék előlapján a kompozíció középpontjában egy forgó néptáncos pár dinamikus mozgása figyelhető meg népzenészekkel a háttérben. A választott motívum Lajtha László munkásságának egyik meghatározó elemére, a néptánc- és népzene-kutatásra, -gyűjtésre utal. Népzenekutatói munkásságért Lajtha Lászlót 1951-ben Kossuth-díjjal jutalmazták. Lajtha gyűjtői munkája a táncház-mozgalom alappillérévé vált.
